This is wrong on so many levels that I don’t know where to start. AI could have the possibility to do some great things , but this is not it. I can’t believe the mental damage this will cause when used this way. I really just don’t know what to expect from the future.
I wrote a long thread diving into some of the really grim areas where this leads, and it’s really really heavy. This is not conducive to psychological wellbeing. It’s not even conducive to the human experience.
Can you please mirror publish it somewhere else because I don't use that website and I don't like to send other people there either. Maybe copy paste it into a substack post or at least on bluesky or tumblr?
This is one reality of AI being forced up on us that I didn't even imagine we would be grappling with. I hope I never have to encounter something like this, but I suppose if the tech companies have their way, then it is only a matter of time.
And tech companies are big campaign contributors.

Feels like a black mirror episode
Absolutely. Although to be honest, I don’t even know if black mirror could come up with this level of absolute mind bending horror.
Oh, but they did. The "Be Right Back" episode.

Very disturbing.
This is the “real life” version of a 2013 Black Mirror episode: https://m.imdb.com/title/tt2290780/
The whole thing is wrong it reeks of the dystopian movies I’ve seen, and I would gather to say that this interferes with the grieving process
Truly a burning bush, a warning to us that we are so far off the rails when it comes to Ai.
